Insights and Highlights from the Annual Consortium Meeting 2025

The DDG-MRI partners met on December 1-2, 2025, for the annual consortium meeting. The meeting took place at the GE Healthcare campus in Munich, Germany. The partners exchanged results and ideas and met with the External Expert Advisory Board online.

The project is on track with:

  • Multiple deuterated 2-deoxy-D-glucose were synthesized at CortecNet and distributed to the partners.

  • Initial in vivo studies at the University of Turin, Italy, and at Ulm University in Germany.

  • The Turin group investigated the effect of anesthesia on rodent brain uptake of DDG.

  • Progress on an MRI insert for small animal studies in a 3T clinical scanner was made by the University of Ulm.

  • A small-animal deuterium RF coil for a 3T clinical scanner designed and built at the Technical University of Denmark.

  • Initial scanning and pulse sequence development were performed at GE Healthcare's Applied Science Laboratory.

  • Initial safety and biodistribution studies were performed at HMO.

  • GE Healthcare Pharmaceutical Diagnostics provided the requirements for a Target Product Profile for a New Chemical Entity.
